Working in Galway

Rural western Saratoga County — the hamlet, Galway Lake, and homes and farms spread across open country toward the Fulton County line. Farms, rural homes on acreage, and lake properties: outbuilding feeders, well systems, and backup power are the everyday scope here.

Farm, light industrial, and rural projects frequently need three-phase distribution documented properly — and older buildings here often have no accurate drawings at all.

What an electrical design package includes

A complete package answers every question an inspector, a builder, and an installer will ask. Load calculations sized to real connected load and future capacity. A single-line (one-line) diagram showing service, distribution, and protection at a glance. Riser diagrams for multi-level work. Panel schedules with circuits assigned, balanced, and labeled. Power and lighting plans with device locations, switching, and fixture schedules. Specifications for the equipment that actually gets ordered.

For permit sets, that package is what the AHJ reviews. For builders, it is what makes the rough-in predictable. For owners, it is the document that says what they are buying before anyone opens a wall.

Electrical Design & Engineering in Galway: your questions

Can you document an existing building with no drawings?
This is common in older commercial buildings and it is genuinely useful work. We trace and test the existing distribution, then produce accurate as-built single-lines and panel schedules. It ends the guessing for every future project and every electrician who opens the panel after us.
Do I need stamped engineered drawings?
It depends on the jurisdiction and the scope. Plenty of residential and light commercial permit sets are accepted as contractor-prepared electrical drawings; larger or more complex projects require a licensed professional engineer’s stamp. We tell you which category your project falls into before you spend money, and coordinate with a stamping PE when one is required.
What is a single-line diagram, and do I need one?
A single-line (or one-line) diagram is a schematic of your electrical service and distribution — service entrance, main, feeders, panels, and protection — drawn as a single path so the whole system is legible on one page. Any project with more than one panel, three-phase power, or a permit reviewer generally needs one, and every building benefits from having one on file.
Can you design around equipment we have already selected?
Yes, and it is the better sequence. Send us the equipment schedule or spec sheets and we design the distribution to the actual nameplate loads rather than to allowances. Where a selection creates a problem — a service that will not carry it, a long-lead item — you hear it while the choice is still reversible.
