Our design process: the load inventory

Every generator project starts the same way: a walk through your building with a notepad, listing what must run in an outage, what can wait, and what it takes to start. Well pumps, boilers, sumps, refrigeration, medical equipment, the internet — each gets weighed honestly. Then we design backwards from that list: unit size, fuel supply, and the transfer scheme that fits your panel and your budget.

This is where our being electricians first matters. A generator dealer sizes from a brochure; we size from your actual panel, your actual loads, and hard-won knowledge of what Upstate New York outages actually demand. The result is a system that carries what matters and skips what doesn't — which is usually a smaller, better-designed system than the sales sheet suggested.

After the install: keeping it ready

A standby generator is an engine that must start perfectly after months of doing nothing — that takes maintenance, not hope. We set every owner up with a service schedule: oil and filters, battery checks, and verification that the weekly self-test is actually running and transferring. For camps and seasonal properties, we fold generator checks into spring and fall visits, and pair the unit with monitoring so a failed exercise cycle in January becomes a phone notification instead of an April discovery.
